Sylvan Greene, MS
Coach Greene specializes in basketball skill development, fitness, nutrition, and speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) training for athletes at various levels, both male and female. His military background informs a unique coaching style—rooted in discipline, structure, and a science-based approach—delivering highly individualized training plans tailored to optimize performance in every athlete.

He is a licensed coach through USA Basketball and holds multiple certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), including:
· Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES)
· Speed, Agility, and Quickness (SAQ) Specialist
· Nutrition Coach
In addition, he is a certified dotFIT practitioner, further reinforcing his commitment to comprehensive, evidence-based athletic development.

He also holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Management, which complements his extensive athletic and military background by providing advanced expertise in sports administration, athlete development, and organizational leadership. Combined with his practical experience, this education equips him to elevate athletes’ performance while also leading programs, developing systems, and mentoring future coaches.
Coach Greene brings a dynamic blend of athletic experience, military discipline, and advanced training knowledge to every athlete he mentors. A multi-sport athlete in high school, he went on to play collegiate basketball at Mid-Michigan College, formerly Mid-Michigan Community College, before serving in the United States Navy.

His coaching journey began in 2012 as the pitching coach for the Ithaca High School varsity baseball team up to him leaving for the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Navy, Coach Greene continued to pursue his passion for coaching and leadership—becoming a Field Training Officer and assisting the St. Louis High School varsity baseball team as a pitching coach.

Upon returning from active duty, he resumed coaching at Ithaca High School, contributing to the football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball programs. He served as head coach for the 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball teams during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, respectively, while also working as an assistant coach for the women’s varsity basketball team, which is his current position.
